Ornamental Capitals

Hand crafted in accordance with the Orders of Architecture, every classically proportioned, crisply detailed ornamental capital is molded from durable, fiber-reinforced composition. Each capital is fired at temperatures suitable to harden the composition, and then sealed prior to being carefully packaged for shipment. Ornamental capitals from Melton Classics are available in round, square and various angular pilaster profiles.
For historical restorations, Melton Classics artisans can create a mold from as little as one-fourth of an existing capital in order to form an authentic replica of the original capital. Additionally, wooden capitals can be hand carved to complement the broad line of stain-grade hardwood columns available from Melton Classics.
